Antonia Grumbach is of counsel at Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler, where she practiced law for more than 30 years. She currently focuses her practice in the area of tax-exempt organizations, handling corporate, tax, and other related work for private foundations and publicly supported organizations. She also advises charitable organizations and charitable trusts on governance issues, endowment questions, tax issues, and public/private partnerships.
Grumbach serves as the trustee to various boards and foundations, including Teachers College at Columbia University (where she was co-chair of the board for five years), Milton Academy, Mrs. Giles Whiting Foundation, Mona Bismarck Foundation, Partnership for Children's Rights, and Ponagansett Foundation. Grumbach served as a director of U.S. Trust Corporation and U.S. Trust Company of New York for more than 10 years. She was formerly on the boards of the William T. Grant Foundation, Henfield Foundation, and the NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund. In addition, Grumbach has just completed a second term as a member of the board of advisors of the New York University program on philanthropy and law.
