Janice Chew

As a qualified lawyer in Hong Kong and Malaysia, Janice Chew leads the broad practice of JC Legal in cross-border advisory, corporate and commercial law, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance and intellectual property. Trained in commercial litigation, Janice serves to empower entrepreneurs with her legal expertise by designing bespoke solutions. Her clients range from technology startups to industry leaders in e-commerce, property development and asset management. Well-connected with professionals in ASEAN, Janice often advises on cross-border projects such as inbound foreign direct investment, incorporation of offshore investment funds and international dispute resolution. Janice is committed to serving the community through pro bono legal service and supporting various social causes, particularly gender equality and diversity & inclusion. She has supervised law students in pro bono projects through the Legal Advice Programme of the University of Hong Kong, and mentored a team of secondary school students on social entrepreneurship in the Wofoo Millennium Entrepreneurship Programme. Janice currently serves as Director of Uplifters, a registered charity empowering migrant domestic workers through online education, and Honorary Legal Advisor of Hong Kong Momtrepreneurs, a charitable organisation advocating women empowerment. In 2019, Janice was honoured by Prestige as 40 under 40 in Hong Kong. She was also named Caring Ambassador 2020-2021 by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for her positive contribution to the community.
