Raees Baig

Prof. Raees Baig is an assistant professor in the department of social work at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include social policy, civil society, and political participation as well as human rights and equality. She was previously an honourary lecturer at University of Hong Kong. Prof. Baig has been working for various local and international human rights organizations including the Hong Kong Human Rights Monitor and The Hong Kong Council of Social Service. She was also a Senior Minority Fellow under the UN Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights in 2013. She is currently the vice-chairperson of HER Fund, a registered charity that promotes women’s rights and gender equality.
