The fourth annual Law for Change Student Competition, sponsored by the WYNG Foundation, is currently in progress, inspiring another class of future public interest lawyers to use law to build resilient communities in Hong Kong.
In October 2020, eight competition finalists were selected by the committee and matched with their legal mentors to develop full proposals around the chosen theme of this year’s competition, “Community Resilience.” The finalist teams met with their legal mentors for the first time on October 16 at the virtual opening evening. The advisory board of the competition and the judging panel joined the event to share some of their expectations and tips, while one of the runner-up teams, Be EnGayged, also joined the event to share their project implementation updates.
The finalist teams attended workshops on October 24 and 31 on design thinking and impact evaluation, and will attend the third workshop on November 21 on presentation skills. They will continue working on their proposal until the end of December 2020.
