Being organised by PILnet and Asia Pacific Network of Refugees (APNOR) in partnership with UNHCR, TrustLaw, the Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network (APRRN), Migration & Asylum project (MAP), Asylum Services & Knowledge (ASK) and Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer (HSF Kramer), the Asia-Pacific Refugee Rights Pro Bono Pitching Roundtable will bring together law firms and in-house legal teams with refugee-led organisations (RLOs), NGOs and community-based organisations from across the Asia-Pacific region to explore carefully scoped, organisation-led pro bono projects. These may include:
- organisational legal support, such as governance, registration, contracts, employment, compliance, policies, banking or funding structures;
- legal research, comparative analysis, toolkits or training; and
- structured direct-assistance programmes, strategic litigation, clinics, supervision or mentoring models.
Participant firms will receive a project catalogue and pitching agenda in advance. Each organisation will make a short pitch, followed by a facilitated discussion.
Previous Roundtables have unlocked pro bono support for over 60 organisations globally, with every project presented matched with a law firm. The 2026 process builds on that experience while placing greater emphasis on refugee leadership, equitable collaboration and practical project design.
Participation is open to Global Refugee Forum Legal Community Pledge members and other law firms and in-house teams providing pro bono services.
