Jinmei Liu.

Jinmei is an experienced climate action advocate, she also holds board positions in environmental organizations such as Friends of Nature and Nanjing Green Stone Environmental Protection Center. Her work focuses on climate policy and promoting green, low-carbon transformation in key industrial sectors like steel and petrochemical industries, while also engaging in environmental governance and public interest litigation practices, and drives the climate strategy transition of grassroots environmental organizations in China. Previously, as the Director-General of Friends of Nature, she led negotiations in China's first climate litigation case and initiated the country's pioneering project supporting individual climate action—the "Public Climate Action Project: Linglong Project." She has also served as the head of the Legal and Policy Program at Friends of Nature, advancing environmental public interest litigation, legislative work, and policy advocacy. Additionally, she has long been engaged in issues related to environmental compliance of multinational corporate investments in Southeast Asia. Earlier in her career, she worked as an environmental public interest lawyer at China's first legal aid center for pollution victims, providing legal assistance to communities affected by pollution across the country.
