Roundtable for NGOs

By invite only.

PILnet, TrustLaw, UNHCR, and the Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network will be having a virtual roundtable for NGOs in Asia on 23 July 2020 to discuss the global legal community’s pledge at the Global Refugee Forum of pro bono legal support to refugees, asylum-seekers, stateless persons and other forcibly displaced persons. The legal community’s pledge included over 127,000 pro bono hours and other commitments devoted to such support, and we believe NGOs and law firms in Asia are well-placed to kick-off implementation of the pledge.

The roundtable will be an opportunity for NGOs to learn more about the pledge, gain a general understanding of what pro bono support can be offered by law firms, and share NGOs’ perspective on the legal needs of the forcibly displaced and projects that lawyers can get involved in. It will also be a chance to highlight any urgent needs and possible support related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
