Join us for a special edition of the Hong Kong Pro Bono Roundtables on Monday, 14 September 2026 from 12:30 to 2:00pm. Featuring a skills-based training session on completing applications for tax exemption status under Section 88 of the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Ordinance led by Yan Zeng and Chris Kung of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, designed for lawyers taking on pro bono matters supporting charities in Hong Kong.
During the session, participants will learn about legal principles relating to Hong Kong charities, the different legal forms that charities can take, and practical tips for completing Section 88 applications. You’ll also hear about the Inland Revenue Department’s review process, including common enquiries and case studies, as well as the IRD’s ongoing review of charities’ tax exemption status. The session will conclude with time for Q&A.
