Yet many organizations face legal and regulatory challenges in the course of their operations or implementing their programs. These challenges, whether it is to navigate registration of their organization and complex compliance systems, handle contract issues or organizational governance, can significantly impact their programs and operations. Legal support can make a significant difference in enhancing the operational health of these organizations. However, in some contexts legal support may exist but is inaccessible to the majority of these organizations, especially smaller or grassroot organizations that may lack the professional networks or financial resources to access it.
At PILnet, we believe that a strong civil society depends on firm legal foundations. PILnet recently expanded in Africa, to assist organizations in overcoming the legal challenges they may be facing.
