PILnet proudly presents the 2019 Law for Change Student Competition, sponsored by the WYNG Foundation. This competition will pair law students with legal mentors as they develop innovative solutions to entrenched social justice needs in Hong Kong, while raising general awareness about the role of law as a tool for change.

  • Make an impact in your community
  • Develop an innovative law project addressing social justice issues
  • Receive professional mentorship and coaching on project development
  • Compete for HK$50,000 seed funding to implement project

From now until 1 October 2019, PILnet invites undergraduate and graduate law students in Hong Kong to submit an Executive Summary describing a project that will use the law to address a social justice issue in Hong Kong around the chosen theme of this year’s competition,“Community” with a focus on “Sustainability”. Please refer to the theme guidance. which includes a full description of the theme.

PILnet will select eight finalist teams to advance to the next phase of the competition which runs from October 2019 to January 2020. Finalist teams will be paired with legal mentors and will receive coaching on project design and development. Further details of the competition will soon be available on PILnet’s website.
