Adonica Black is a visionary leader with extensive experience in advancing inclusion, equity, and innovation across industries. She currently serves as the Senior Director of Talent, Inclusion, and Employee Brand and Global Head of Early Careers at Aptiv, where she oversees strategic programs to attract, retain, and develop top talent globally, including Aptiv’s global early careers programs and university partnerships. Under her leadership, Aptiv has solidified its reputation as an employer of choice while aligning its workforce initiatives with its mission of creating a safer, greener, and more connected world.
In 2024, Adonica joined the PILnet Global Board of Directors, bringing her expertise in inclusion, equity, and the strategic development of emerging markets and opportunities. As a board member, she is dedicated to advancing PILnet’s mission by fostering connections between global initiatives and emerging markets, driving transformative impact in underserved communities worldwide.
Adonica’s career includes a pivotal role at LexisNexis Legal & Professional, where she led the African Ancestry Network/Rule of Law Foundation Fellowship, a groundbreaking program in partnership with the United States’ Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Law School Consortium. Under her leadership, the fellowship expanded internationally to South Africa, advancing the mission to strengthen the rule of law globally. She also implemented award-winning inclusion frameworks and launched initiatives to enhance global employee engagement and professional development.
Her expertise lies in the strategic development of emerging markets and opportunities, informed by her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School and her Bachelor of Arts in International Comparative Studies from Duke University. Her early career in litigation sharpened her critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which she has since leveraged to drive transformational change in global organizations.
Adonica serves as Vice President on the Duke University Alumni Global Board of Directors and as a Trustee for Pine Crest School. She is a strong advocate for inclusive leadership that drives transformation and innovation, fostering environments where equity and inclusion are integral to success and societal progress.
