Ana Higuera

Moderator: Global Clearinghouse Lab, State of the Art: Pro Bono in Europe, October 19 Ana Higuera runs the clearinghouse of the Fernando Pombo Foundation, co-counselling in projects designed for the involvement of pro bono lawyers with non-profit organisations in legal initiatives with social impact. She is an expert in employment and social security law and collaborates regularly on legal projects with social organizations. Of particular note, she was the coordinator of the legislative proposal that created a new social security benefit in Spain for parents whose children are suffering a serious illness. Higuera is also a lecturer at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE), a post she has held since 1998, and collaborates regularly with other universities as lecturer and also coordinating legal clinic projects. She started her career in the law firm Uría Menéndez, where she was a lawyer in the employment group for more than 15 years.
