Shibolo Awali Sean is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda, a dedicated Human Rights defender, and the Executive Director of 'The Robust Initiative For Promoting Human Right organization in Uganda that advocates for the rights of the LGBTIQ community, using the law to advance human rights. Sean was recognized as a Human Rights Hero of the Year 2021 by Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG) for his role in securing the release of 39 LGBTQ community members. Sean was also featured as a Human Rights Defender for the Netherlands to the United Nations on the occasion of the International Day of Human Rights. Sean's journey as an Advocate and LGBTIQ Human Rights defender has placed him at the forefront of the struggle for LGBTIQ rights in Uganda.
