C. Okonkwo is a small scale food vendor from Awka, Anambra State, who has sustained her family for over 14 years through the sale of Okpa, a beloved local delicacy in southeastern Nigeria. A widow and mother, she embodies resilience and entrepreneurial strength in the face of personal tragedy. Her husband was a victim of extrajudicial killing by the notorious Awkuzu SARS unit, one of many such incidents that fueled the nation wide EndSARS protests. With legal representation from Spaces for Change |S4C, she pursued justice and received compensation, an important step in holding state actors accountable.
