Gloria Aigbadon

Gloria's career in legal practice and advocacy began over fifteen years ago when she was called to the Nigerian Bar. She is a PhD candidate at Babcock University, Nigeria, and has a master's degree from the University of Benin. She joined the Public Interest Lawyering Initiative for West Africa (PILIWA) to defend victimised extractive communities in the subregion. She coordinates the PILEX Centre for Civil Education Initiative in Lagos, a public interest organisation that promotes human, environmental, and democratic rights. Gloria lectures on human rights and environmental law at Caleb University, Lagos, and directs the university's PILIWA-COLAW Law Clinic, mentoring future public interest lawyers. She participated in the World and African Human Rights Moot Court Competitions as a coach and is currently organizing a public interest moot competition for southwest universities in Nigeria.
