Ibrahim Abou Senna is an Egyptian lawyer specializing in mandate refugee status determination, resettlement, and protection legal aid. After receiving his bachelor of laws from Cairo University and the Sorbonne University, Ibrahim worked briefly at Africa and Middle East Refugee Assistance (AMERA) before spending a year coordinating the IOM's emergency assistance work in immigration detention in Egypt. Ibrahim has been at StARS for more than five years and has led the Refugee Legal Aid Department for four years. In that time, he has developed and expanded the range of StARS legal aid services, adding specialized programs for unaccompanied children and youth and services helping refugees to find safety in third countries using 'complementary pathways' to UNHCR-led resettlement.
