Jakub Kubalski

Jakub specialises in intellectual property law, researching legal aspects of the digital world, video games and electronic media on an ongoing basis. He negotiated and advised on numerous projects for entities within the computer games industry, including games of chance. He represented clients before the common courts, public administration bodies (including the President of UOKiK, the President of UKE, the President of UODO), and self-regulation associations (including the Advertising Ethics Committee). He represented clients in applications to protect industrial property rights - trademarks and industrial designs in the UPRP and EUIPO, as well as advising on opposition proceedings, infringement of rights, revocation of rights. Jakub has experience in creating and negotiating contracts specific to the marketing, pharmaceutical, television, film and eCommerce industries. He has led various projects regarding contracts concluded with consumers, as well as regarding acts of unfair competition and unfair market practices. Before joining SSW, he gained experience at Domański Zakrzewski Palinka sp.k. Jakub is a member of the Video Game Bar Association and member of the Warsaw Bar Association. He is also a professional representative before the EUIPO. He lectures on the law of computer games and eSports at the School of New Technologies Law School, organized by the H. Grocjusz Intellectual Property Laws Centre. He graduated from American law studies organized by the Levin College of Law (University of Florida). Participant of Advanced Summer School on Trademarks, in Washington D.C., organized jointly by WIPO and USPTO.
