Judith Lichtenberg is Special Advisor to the Board of Directors of Lawyers for Lawyers – an independent foundation that promotes and preserves the independence of the legal profession and supports lawyers at risk worldwide. Judith has been engaged in the work of Lawyers for Lawyers in a variety of roles for more than twenty years. She has represented Lawyers for Lawyers in international fact finding, trial monitoring and needs assessment missions as well as in stakeholder meetings and special mechanisms, including those of the United Nations. From 2022-2024, she participated on behalf of Lawyers for Lawyers in the work of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts for the Protection of lawyers tasked with drafting the Convention for the Protection of the Profession of lawyer.
