Jyothi Kanics has advocated for refugee and migrant rights since 1995 with organisations such as UNHCR, UNICEF and Save the Children. She has assisted vulnerable migrants, including trafficked persons and unaccompanied children. She is currently Director of Policy and Advocacy for Europe with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND). KIND seeks to secure safety and fulfil rights for unaccompanied and separated children in Europe through high-quality, free legal and psychosocial assistance, capacity building, and advocacy. Jyothi coordinates KIND's policy advocacy efforts including engaging with the Vulnerability Experts Network of the European Union Agency for Asylum and the Council of Europe's Consultation Group on Children of Ukraine.
