Louis O’Neill is Counsel and Pro Bono Director at White & Case.  He directs the Firm’s Global Pro Bono Practice and advises the Firm’s pro bono and commercial clients on a broad range of matters, notably in the area of appeals.  Before returning to White & Case, O’Neill served in non-political capacities as Ambassador and Head of Mission to Moldova for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), as a Member of the State Department’s Policy Planning Staff and as White House Fellow to US Secretary of State Colin Powell.  Prior to the White House Fellowship, O’Neill served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Special Prosecutions Bureau of the New York County District Attorney’s Office.  He began his legal career at White & Case as an associate.  He speaks English, Russian, Romanian and Persian.
