Speaker: Working with Vulnerable Clients: Trauma-Informed Advice from Clinical Psychologists, October 21 Mary Robertson is a Chartered Consultant Clinical Psychologist who has been working in the field of adult mental health for 30 years. She trained in South Africa and was the head of the specialist Trauma Clinic in South Africa at the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation, in Johannesburg as well as elsewhere in Africa consulting on trauma care in conflict zones such as Rwanda. Since 2004, she has been the head of the Traumatic Stress Clinic at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust, a specialist service for the assessment and treatment of complex PTSD. Over the past twenty years, she has specialised in working with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in a range of different contexts. In these roles, she has assessed and provided evidence-based treatment to hundreds of trauma survivors including torture survivors, trafficking victims, veterans, child abuse survivors and people traumatised as a result of terrorist attacks and major incidents. She has trained, supervised and offered consultation to a range of professionals working with PTSD including doctors, psychologists, nurses and legal professionals.
