Maryana Batalova is an Associate at Dechert Russia and focuses on litigation and arbitration in the Russian Federation. She advises clients on corporate, commercial, real estate and construction, debt recovery and administrative disputes, including multi jurisdictional disputes. Ms. Batalova has represented Russian and international clients in sectors including the construction, automotive, and oil and gas sectors, and has significant experience in conducting due diligence on leading Russian companies. She has also assisted clients with investigations and corporate compliance matters. She is included in the 2021 edition of The Legal 500 EMEA for her litigation expertise. The Legal 500 EMEA 2020 additionally recognizes her experience in dispute resolution: arbitration and mediation alongside dispute resolution: litigation. Since 2020 she has also been listed in Best Lawyers for her litigation focus. Ms. Batalova holds a PhD degree and is an Associate Professor at the National Research University – Higher School of Economics, where she teaches advanced research seminars in international dispute settlement.
