Paul Yates

Paul Yates is counsel, and head of Freshfields' global pro bono practice. Paul's practice is focused on human rights, in particular modern slavery and the intersection between pro bono and legal aid. He developed the firm's leading third-party intervention practice and regularly advises charities on litigation strategy. Paul has also been at the forefront of the development of legal technology to promote access to justice. Paul is a member of the Administrative Justice Council, and of its steering group, and chairs its pro bono panel. He is also a member of the Law Society of England & Wales' access to justice committee, and chairs the board of the AIRE Centre. Outside of work he enjoys mojitos and Eric Rosen.
