Stefan von Raumer is a Berlin-based litigation attorney with over 30 years of experience, specialising in restitution and property law, as well as constitutional and human rights law. Since founding his law firm in 2001, he has become one of Germany’s leading experts on proceedings before the ECtHR and the German Federal Constitutional Court. In 2022, the ECtHR accepted five of his applications and communicated them to the respectivegovernments. Since February 2025 he has served as President of the German Bar Association (DAV), where he also chairs the Human Rights Committee. On the European level, von Raumer is the former head of the German delegation to the CCBE in Brussels and the former Chair of the CCBE HR Committee. He is a current member of its Permanent Delegation to the ECtHR.
