This European review presents an overview of the accessibility and quality offered by the systems of legal aid for children in conflict with the law in Belgium, France, Hungary, Romania and the Netherlands. It provides an overview of the capacities and the training needs for legal aid lawyers and pro-bono lawyers in these countries and draws some recommendations and suggests effective remedies ensuring equal access to free of charge legal assistance for all children.
