This report outlines the current structure of legal education in Poland and ongoing debates about the goals of legal education and what changes should be made.
Silwa examines several areas, including: a) differences between private and public universities; (b) the implementation of Bologna Declaration recommendations; (c) forms of classes and teaching methods; (d) the post-graduate apprenticeship and training regime; (e) certification exams; (f) and the emergence of public interest elements. Notwithstanding new initiatives and the fervent debate around issues of higher education, Silwa laments the lack of concerted efforts and genuine incentives to guide Poland through a time of evolution in legal education.
