Making Legal Aid a Reality offers practical suggestions for improving systems of publicly funded legal services.
Some of them are borrowed from the more advanced and innovative legal aid systems in the world — England, Israel, Netherlands, South Africa, and the United States. Others represent solutions that have been tested in Central and Eastern Europe. This compilation avoids simplistic solutions and one-size-fits-all guidelines. Instead it offers a great variety of well-tested ideas, which have proven to contribute to the process of making legal aid more accessible, more effective, and more real.
