On 28 April 2025, PILnet hosted the Sharing Event of the Public Interest Law Mentorship Program, featuring a panel discussion on the speakers’ motivations for pursuing work that benefits the public interest.

Attendees heard from Caroline Mok from Justice Centre Hong Kong, Danette Chan from Skadden, and Ashlynn Ong from PILnet. These speakers shared their respective journeys into public interest law or pro bono work, highlighting the challenges they have faced and the inspirations that guided their career paths.

Speakers during the event: Caroline Mok from Justice Centre Hong Kong, Danette Chan from Skadden, and Ashlynn Ong from PILnet.

Following the panel discussion, mentees had the opportunity to engage in a lively Q&A session, fostering deeper connections and discussions about the impact of public interest work.

We believe this Sharing Event has provided plenty of inspiration for our mentees to consider pursuing similar endeavors in their own careers. We look forward to the exciting events still to come in this mentorship program.
