Filing Requirements, Annual Accounts and Budget

As part of the European Pro Bono Week 2026, PILnet, in collaboration with EY Law and Pro Publico, invites you to an informative webinar on June 9 at 15:00 CEST.

Belgium offers a flexible and attractive legal framework for international non-profit organizations. However, this flexibility comes with a set of structured administrative, publication, and financial obligations that must be carefully managed from the outset.

This webinar is designed for foreign organizations that intend to establish or have recently established a Belgian non-profit legal entity. It provides a practical and accessible overview of the key compliance requirements encountered in day-to-day operations.

The session will begin with an overview of the main administrative and publication formalities, including filings with the clerk’s office, publication in the Annexes to the Belgian Official Gazette, and updates to the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises and the UBO register. It will then address the preparation, approval, and filing of annual accounts, as well as the role of the General Assembly and the implications of discharge.

Finally, the webinar will explore the establishment and approval of the budget, highlighting common practical challenges and widely used governance approaches.

This interactive session will offer participants the opportunity to ask questions and discuss practical scenarios, with the aim of providing clear, actionable guidance to help navigate Belgian non-profit requirements with confidence and ensure sound and compliant operations.
