The 2019 PILnet European Convening brought together public interest and pro bono practitioners, including pro bono clearinghouse members, law firm professionals, technology leaders, private sector and in-house legal professionals, and organized civil society groups across Europe, to forge collaborative networks and discuss how technology and innovation developments can advance their pro bono and public interest work; all in the interest of making societies healthier and stronger.
The PILnet European Convening is a day-long event, particularly tailored to give space for understanding innovative models of using pro bono and developing strategies in order for civil society organizations to increase their sustainability and resiliency. This convening provided participants with the opportunity to come together and discuss new public interest and “pro bono-enhancing” approaches and strategies that support and protect the work of organized civil society. Particular attention will be given to the role of technology, innovation, social impact, and entrepreneurship in supporting pro bono and public interest efforts in Europe and beyond.
