Legal Innovation for the Public Interest

Experts are already discussing the onset of the fifth industrial revolution. Rapid growth in infrastructure and technology brings a great deal of opportunities, which we can use to further the public interest. In the face of these rapid changes, PILnet aims to reclaim and re-imagine the role of law, so that it works for the benefit of all. To do this, PILnet convened stakeholders in a space dedicated to legal innovation as well as builds networks and collaborations of lawyers who will discuss how to use technology to make law more accessible to the underprivileged.

PILnet held its 2019 European Convening, following the Access to Justice and Technology Summit, organized with DLA Piper, to seek to align the interests of corporate lawyers, civil society organizations, businesses, academics, and public interest lawyers. These two events, held back to back, provided the opportunity for relevant actors to share their experiences, access resources, build and cultivate relationships, and design collaborative solutions.
